Before I started adding restorative yoga to my practice, I was convinced my exercise routine had to include sweating and an elevated heart rate. I was a true “cardio addict!” My yoga teacher in Connecticut knew I was experiencing a high level of job stress and she recommended I take a restorative yoga class. After that first class, I was convinced this practice had to be included in my exercise routine. The benefits were noticed immediately especially with my insomnia, blood pressure, and overall stress level.

Restorative yoga is an active relaxation that helps stimulate and relax the body to become more balanced. Adding restorative to your routine helps restore the body and it is especially beneficial for times when you feel weak, fatigued, or stressed.

Restorative Yoga has been shown to relieve the effects of chronic stress. Your spine is moved in all directions, so it helps reverse the effects of gravity. It stimulates and soothes the internal organs, and balances the energy in our bodies so you are neither overstimulated nor depleted.

Give it a try! My Restorative Yoga is offered two times a week. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:45AM.
